Domenico Severino born in Pompeii on January 16, 1949 it became a fundamental point of reference for all those who seek in art not only futile decorativeism but valid testimonies of the contemporary world. His artistic career begins in 1969 Starting from his town halls Hospice Bartolo Longo Pompei.

Themes
The fields and the people, 60s/80s, in the 90s, begins the exploration of objects, compositions, vineyards, but also the destructuring of the form.The end of the century, begins to free the painting from the sign (metaphysical abstraction ) to move on to a new informal, the New Land and the Mail_Art (postal art) taking part in many international projects. Mail network art, Fluxus Dada. In 2011, is invited by the municipal administration of Pompeii, to keep a personal exhibition on the occasion of the celebrations of Pompeii Città and, for the 150th of the Unification of Italy. The exhibition, “Paths of life 1971/2011”,”Places and time of memory” is hosted in the council chamber of the Municipality of Pompeii. In that occasion, the artist, gives the municipal house 7 works belonging to the current of recycled art: “Recycling Art”, on permanent exhibition in the administrative offices of the Municipality. In 2012, a new phase opens, sculpts several tuff works.
In that year, the new “La Cartiera” shopping center in Pompeii, commissioned two corten steel sculptures which are installed in two roundabouts: “From pyramid to sky” located in Viale Unità d’Italia, and “free forms in space” located in via Astolelle, before entry into the new shopping center. In April 2014, it is invited to an “art symposium at the balcony”, in Perugia, together to another 9 national and international artists (seven days), producing work on the spot. In that occasion, visit the Burri Museum in Città di Castello.
Techniques
Oil, acrylic, tempera, collage tecniche mixed .. for over 5 years, he has used recycled materials, creating works of non-Euclidean geometry. Abandoning almost definitively, the painting, with which he had told most of his life. With a thermal device, it creates works with industrial waste materials, such as, Plexiglas, Forex, and more, coining two terms for its new artistic research: “Thermoscultures, and, thermoriers.
